Three are the main colours predominantly used in this category: black, white and red. These are the colours of the lost continent of Atlantis, submerged under the sea.
Red is the power of life. Strong and aggressive, it gives an air of passion and fire.
Black and white represent wisdom, which power would be wasted in vain without. The fact is they contain all other colours in themselves but fading in time, they are no longer affected by various shades and rather bring everything down to the simple eternal principle of seeing things in black and white. Everything else is vain except pure power, the red colour.
Two paintings in this category are rather interesting: the Butterfly being one, and China being the other. What made Pavel Mitkov place them exactly here? Here is what he explains:
"A butterfly is a typical example of how something trifle can reverberate to result in enormous changes." It is the best example of evolution from something ugly into something that is beautiful until it flaps its wings, causing a hurricane on the opposite side of the globe. It once again evidences the fact that everything in the Universe is interconnected and nothing happens simply by accident. And China! We have yet to see what will happen in a far end of the world when the Tiger roars!
The most fascinating period is from 2012 on. Mitkov highlights two particular dates in it: 21.12.2012, supposedly the end of the world, and 10.02.2013, the beginning of the Age of Aquarius and the Chinese New Year. According to the artist, that was the time when the mankind chose its future 2000-year cycle and the good prevailed. Always positive, always filled with a lot of energy, Mitkov turned his latest period into a life mission. It is not about just composing paintings but rather about creating and putting enormous love into canvases. The painter believes a painting can make a real difference in a man’s life.
