A Dream Come True

130 x 150 cm,  Oil on canvas

Welcome to Paris! As Pavel Mitkov puts it, this is his favourite theme. Whether it is the artist getting a feeling of the city or the city getting a feeling of the artist is open to a lot of debate. The truth, however, is simple - Paris is the city of artists, the city of art and love. It has immense powerful allure, creativity and an atmosphere filling the air with a desire to live and create.

Pavel Mitkov is referred to in Bulgaria as the wet-street artist. He was dubbed so in 2000, during the filming of the first documentary about him. In the reel, the artist explains that he sees two worlds in a painting - the first is the real world, and the second is its reflection. This can only happen in the wake of rain, which is not uncommon in Paris.

Rain, the all-cleansing water, washes away everything vile and wicked. We invite you to a stroll of some sort down Paris streets in Mitkov's paintings, breathing the moist air filled with creativity, purity and love. And why not have this emotion brighten up your days from now on?

The most fascinating period is from 2012 on. Mitkov highlights two particular dates in it: 21.12.2012, supposedly the end of the world, and 10.02.2013, the beginning of the Age of Aquarius and the Chinese New Year. According to the artist, that was the time when the mankind chose its future 2000-year cycle and the good prevailed. Always positive, always filled with a lot of energy, Mitkov turned his latest period into a life mission. It is not about just composing paintings but rather about creating and putting enormous love into canvases. The painter believes a painting can make a real difference in a man’s life.
